Applications for Class 6 entry in 2027-28 closed on 31 July 2026 and the selection test is set for 28 November 2026. The next application window, for 2028-29 entry, is expected around June 2027. Class 9 and Class 11 entries run on their own separate notifications.

Missed the window? The next Class 6 cycle is expected around June 2027. Note it now, because this is a once-a-year door and the child ages out of it.
Child already past Class 5? JNV also admits at Class 9 and Class 11 through separate notifications with their own timelines.
Urban by the Class 3 to 5 rule? A quarter of seats are open to rural and urban candidates alike, so you are not excluded, only competing in a smaller pool.
Outside the age window? Sainik Schools and Eklavya Model Residential Schools admit on different ages and rules, and state residential schools run their own entrances.
