விண்ணப்பங்கள் எங்கே தோல்வியடைகின்றன

• The only official portal is scholarship.up.gov.in. Search results are dominated by imitation sites with names like scholarship.up.in, upscholarships.in and upscholarshipup.com. They are not government sites. Type the gov.in address yourself rather than clicking a search result.
• Three separate departments run this scheme — Social Welfare for General, SC and ST students, Backward Classes Welfare, and Minority Welfare. Your department decides which dashboard and which rules apply to you.
• Class 11 and 12 students use the Post-Matric Inter dashboard. Everyone in college — UG, PG, ITI, diploma, B.Ed, medical, engineering — uses the Dashmottar dashboard instead. Using the wrong one wastes the attempt.
• One Time Registration with Aadhaar e-KYC comes first and only one OTR is permitted per student. Creating more than one can get you debarred.
• The portal is severely congested between September and December and splits traffic across numbered server links. All of them reach the same database, so if one fails, go back and use another rather than assuming the site is down.
• Your institution must be listed in the portal's master database. CBSE and ICSE students are eligible, but only if their school is recognised by the state and appears there.
• An income certificate issued by the Tehsildar is valid for three years. An older one may be accepted at submission and then rejected later by the district welfare officer, after the deadline has passed.
• Your school or college must have an active DISE or AISHE code in the portal's master database. Ask the office to confirm this before you start, because if the institution is not registered you cannot apply at all.
