KVPY was discontinued in 2022 and merged into the INSPIRE scheme. There is no KVPY exam to sit and no KVPY coaching that leads anywhere. Anyone selling KVPY preparation is selling preparation for an examination that has not been held for four years.

Benefits moved to INSPIRE SHE, which has no separate entrance test and selects on existing merit — top 1% in Class 12, high JEE or NEET ranks taken to a pure science degree, or admission to an IISER, IIST, NISER or CEBS. Reports in July 2026 indicate the INSPIRE SHE advertisement for the 2025 batch was not issued, so the successor scheme's own status is unclear.
