Central universities
Delhi University, BHU, JNU, Jamia and the other central universities, admitting through a common entrance since board marks alone stopped being enough.
Ministry of Education · India
Open now, no closing date announcedUndergraduate admission through CUET UG. Each university sets its own subject combinations and cut-offs.
Why this one matters
Board marks no longer secure admission to these universities, and families who plan around a board percentage discover CUET too late to prepare for it.
What it covers
admission route. Levels funded: undergraduate, postgraduate.
Who can apply
- You must be a citizen of India
Where applications fail
Most rejected applications are not ineligible students. They are eligible students who missed a step.
- Each university and course prescribes which CUET subjects it will count. Choosing the wrong subjects at registration can make you ineligible for the course you wanted.
- Cut-offs are published per university and per course after the result, not before, so there is no reliable target score to aim at in advance.
- Some courses still require specific Class 12 subjects regardless of CUET performance.
If this one is not for you
Being ruled out of a scheme is not the same as having no options. Here is what is still open.
- Missed CUET? State universities and many private universities admit on board marks or their own tests.
- Wanted a specific course rather than a specific university? Use the search to find which entrances reach that course.
- Open schooling or a gap year? NIOS certificates are accepted for university admission, though individual exams may set their own conditions.
