This is where the largest sums and the worst advice meet. Agents earn from lender referrals, so the loan you are steered toward is not always the cheapest one available to you.

आवेदन कहाँ विफल होते हैं

ज़्यादातर अस्वीकृत आवेदन अपात्र छात्रों के नहीं होते। वे पात्र छात्रों के होते हैं जिनसे कोई एक क़दम छूट गया।

• Send money through the education loan, not as a personal transfer. Tax is collected at source on foreign remittances, and remittances funded by an education loan from a financial institution are treated far more favourably than transfers from your own funds.
• Section 80E lets you deduct all interest paid, but only on a loan from a financial institution recognised for this purpose. Loans from unregistered lenders may not qualify, and nobody checks this for you.
• Check whether your university appears on your bank's premier institution list before assuming collateral is unavoidable. That check belongs at the start of loan planning, not after you have pledged property.
• Non-banking lenders approve faster and lend more without security, at a materially higher rate. Over a ten-year repayment that gap is large, and the convenience is expensive.
• A tax collected at source is an advance tax, not a cost. It can be set against your liability or refunded when returns are filed, so it should not be treated as money lost.

• No collateral and no premier-list university? Non-banking lenders will lend larger amounts unsecured at a higher rate. Expensive, but it is not a closed door.
• Need more than the bank will give unsecured? Ask about CGFSEL by name — it can extend collateral-free cover that branches do not volunteer.
• Category-eligible? The Ambedkar overseas scheme and several state overseas schemes fund foreign study where the central loan schemes do not.
